Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy. But it was a long holiday. We had a barbecue in the garden with our kids for the first time in a long time.
It’s been a long time since we’ve spent time sitting around a fire like this since our kids got older.
We grilled chicken slowly over a charcoal fire and added rosemary to add flavor. It’s simple, but the aroma of the grilling naturally sparks conversation.
In the evening, we grilled some fatty hokke and brought it to the table. The flesh was plump, and steam rose when we put our chopsticks in. The time we spent eating it with warm rice was the best treat of all.
It was a peaceful day, with memories slowly rising into the sky along with the smoke.
