🍱 May 14, 2025 – Today’s Bento: Scallop & Egg Fried Rice
It’s a slightly humid Wednesday, hinting that the rainy season is just around the corner. As I opened my bento box this morning, a warm, savory aroma greeted me—it’s the scallop fried rice I had been craving and requested in advance!
The star of today’s lunch is fried rice with plump scallops, fluffy scrambled eggs, and slightly bitter nanohana (rapeseed blossoms). The chewy texture of mixed grains and a touch of soy sauce bring it all together perfectly.
On the side, there are pork and vegetable rolls, wrapped around colorful zucchini, carrots, and bell peppers. Not only are they tasty, but their bright colors make the bento look like it’s blooming with little edible flowers.
And in the soup jar: a classic miso soup with tofu and wakame seaweed. Gentle, comforting, and just right to keep me going through the afternoon.
What makes this lunch even more special is that my girlfriend made it for me despite being exhausted from her part-time job yesterday. She remembered my request, woke up early, and put together this beautiful and thoughtful meal.
A delicious bento, filled not just with scallops and flavor—but with care and kindness, too. I’m full in every sense of the word.

リクエストしていたチャーハン弁当❣
🍱2025/5/14 今日のお弁当：ほたてと卵の香ばしチャーハン
梅雨の気配がほんのり感じられる、しっとりとした水曜日。今朝の弁当箱のふたを開けると、ふわっと立ちのぼる香ばしい香り。そう、今日は僕が前からリクエストしていたチャーハン弁当！
主役は、ほたてと卵、そして菜花が彩るチャーハン。ぷりぷりのほたてに、ふんわり卵、そして菜花のほろ苦さが絶妙にマッチ。雑穀ごはんの食感も楽しく、醤油の香ばしさがじんわり広がる。
副菜には、豚肉と野菜（ズッキーニ・人参・パプリカ）の巻き焼き。見た目も鮮やかで、お弁当箱の中で小さな花が咲いたみたい。しっかり味で、ごはんがどんどん進む。
そして、スープジャーには定番の味噌汁。豆腐とわかめのやさしい出汁が、午後に向けてそっと力をくれる。
ちなみに昨日、彼女はバイトでかなり疲れていたはず。それでも、僕のリクエストをちゃんと覚えていて、こんな丁寧なお弁当を用意してくれた。その気持ちが、何よりもうれしい。
僕の「食べたい！」に応えてくれた、ほたてチャーハン弁当。今日も美味しさと愛情に、しっかり満たされました。
